Fastest Way To Lose 5 Pounds

Many brides embark on a crash diet prior to their wedding day - somehow women have gotten it into their heads that they need to "fit" into an ideal wedding dress of a specific size, rather than having the ideal dress fit them! Dramatic and sudden weight loss prior to your wedding day is not at all recommended unless you are keen on looking tired or withdrawn on your big day. So please ladies, quick-fix diets are not the solution. But if you do have time, and I do mean a year or longer to embark on a diet, then you can definitely achieve dramatic results.

With that caveat aside, hope is not all lost, especially IF you are looking for a realistic weight loss outcome! In this article, I provide you a few tips on forming healthy eating habits to be incorporated into your diet plan. I also provide you with examples of foods that can help you lose weight fast. When you adopt these habits and eat the suggested foods, you can lose 5 pounds FAST!

First, you need to incorporate healthy eating habits into your diet plan. These habits should be something you can adopt as a lifestyle choice, even after you stop dieting.

Adopt Eating Habits for a Lasting Healthy Diet

Eat enough calories but not too many. Maintain a balance between your calorie intake and calorie expenditure—that is, don't eat more food than your body uses. The average recommended daily allowance is 2,000 calories, but this depends on your age, sex, height, weight, and physical activity.

Eat a wide variety of foods. Healthy eating is an opportunity to expand your range of choices by trying foods—especially vegetables, whole grains, or fruits—that you don't normally eat.

Keep portions moderate, especially high-calorie foods. In recent years serving sizes have ballooned, particularly in restaurants. Choose a starter instead of an entrée, split a dish with a friend, and don’t order supersize anything.

Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes —f oods high in complex carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, low in fat, and free of cholesterol. Try to get fresh, local produce.

Drink more water. Our bodies are about 75% water. It is a vital part of a healthy diet. Water helps flush our systems, especially the kidneys and bladder, of waste products and toxins. A majority of us go through life dehydrated.

Limit sugary foods, salt, and refined-grain products. Sugar is added to a vast array of foods. In a year, just one daily 12-ounce can of soda (160 calories) can increase your weight by 16 pounds. So skip that can drink, and opt for water instead.

Don’t be the food police. You can enjoy your favorite sweets and fried foods in moderation, as long as they are an occasional part of your overall healthy diet.

Get moving. A healthy diet improves your energy and feelings of well-being while reducing your risk of many diseases. Adding regular physical activity and exercise will make any healthy eating plan work even better. One step at a time. Establishing new food habits is much easier if you focus on and take action on one food group or food fact at a time.

Negative Calorie Foods

This term has been used very often in the media and has taken the aura of being "miracle" foods. Well, what are they? There are simply foods that contain fewer calories than the calories required to digest them. Part of the usefulness of these foods is the fact that eating them causes healthy enzymes to be released in the stomach. Enzymes aid digestion and help the body be healthy in a number of ways. Enzymes break down foods and help increase the metabolism rate. The net effect is that you actually burn calories. (A calorie is the amount of energy it takes to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree Celsius). Of course, theoretically, this sounds fantastic. But there are very few of us that would actually eat negative calorie foods raw. We cook them, add seasonings, and this process adds calories to the food.

But these foods still are lower calorie foods compared to others, and if you eat them in place of cookies, or any other fattening foods then you will lose weight. A word of caution: do not attempt to replace all your meals suddenly with negative calorie foods. Instead, replace a meal (dinner preferably) with negative calorie foods. And substitute all your snacks with negative calorie fruits. You will see immediate effects. And that is the fastest way I know to lose 5 pounds. It is that simple.
